Slop Chefs Cast a Celebrity Ghost Baker to Sell Recipes Nobody Cooked
Ourtake
The fake baker has an AI-generated face, a fake family, and no evidence that anyone has baked a single cake.
What happened
Decrypt Ads reported more than two thousand websites, roughly 2,100 domains, publishing AI-generated recipes under fake chef personas and promoting them through search and social platforms. One site, AddCakes, used AI-manipulated images of a well-known British actress as its fake baker. The researcher said the recipes were likely never cooked by their named authors.
