What happened
A YouTube livestream showed a deepfake of Elon Musk promoting a Bitcoin and Ether giveaway that used a QR code to direct viewers to a scam site. The streams impersonated a SpaceX Starship launch and reached about 75,000 live viewers, with over 200,000 concurrent viewers across several fraud channels.
