What happened
Activist group the Centre for Political Beauty published a satirical deepfake video showing Chancellor Olaf Scholz calling for a ban on the far-right AfD party. The German government is reviewing legal options and warned about deepfake dangers. The campaign also set up a site collecting incriminating information about the AfD.
