What happened
The campaign of Republican Fort Bend County Judge candidate Daniel Wong posted an AI-generated video appearing to show Black voters endorsing him, then deleted it after backlash. A campaign spokesperson said a Black Democrat supporter made the video, which Houston Public Media could not verify. Opponent Dexter McCoy called for a criminal investigation over misrepresentation of identity.
