Midjourney Painted a Trump Arrest That Never Happened, and Twitter Ran With It

Ourtake

Midjourney responded by banning one word. 'Trump in handcuffs' remained available.

What happened

Midjourney v5 was used to generate around 50 images of former U.S. President Donald Trump being arrested. Bellingcat founder Eliot Higgins posted two of them on Twitter, where they were viewed over five million times and picked up by media outlets. Midjourney then blocked the word "arrested" in prompts, though alternative phrasings still worked.
