GoDaddy says an AI-driven attacker pulled customer contact details through an API

Ourtake

Exposed contact details can be used in phishing, so customers should watch for suspicious emails and calls.

What happened

GoDaddy said an AI-driven cyberattack on September 18 exposed profile, settings and contact information tied to its Websites + Marketing product. The company said the attacker only read the data, did not obtain passwords or access accounts, and that the incident was contained. GoDaddy reported it to law enforcement and regulators and warned customers about possible phishing.
