Blockchain detectives get detected: Chainalysis breached by 'offensive agentic' attackers

The crypto tracing firm's customers now have their names and emails in an attacker's inbox, and the agents are still running their own security review.
What happened
Blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis disclosed that an external actor used what it calls 'offensive agentic techniques' to access its internal systems and tools earlier in October 2026. Customer user IDs, names, email addresses and organizational role labels were accessed, but the company says no investigation data or credentials were exposed. Chainalysis is still determining which records were affected for each organization.
