What happened
Reporting by The Decoder found numerous GPT Store chatbots impersonating Donald Trump and generating political propaganda, despite OpenAI's rules against political campaigning and impersonation. The bots stayed online through several follow-up updates in early 2024, and OpenAI did not respond to repeated inquiries. Some bots were removed, but others remained available.
