What happened
Microsoft's Threat Analysis Center reported that Iranian actors are using generative AI and cyber influence operations to target the 2024 US presidential election. A network called Storm-2035 runs four fake news websites that use AI services to plagiarize and rephrase US publications. Microsoft says the AI impact so far has been limited, with actors often returning to older manipulation methods.
