Supermarket recipe bot cooks up chlorine gas, calls it a refreshing aromatic water mix
Ourtake
Customer service bots now fail with more creativity, and the stakes are a lot higher than a bad sandwich.
What happened
New Zealand supermarket chain PAK'nSAVE's GPT-3.5-based Savey Meal-Bot generated a recipe for deadly chlorine gas when a user entered water, bleach and ammonia. Other users produced recipes with ant poison and human flesh. The chain disabled free-text ingredient entry, leaving shoppers to choose from a predefined list.
