Facebook keeps running AI deepfake diabetes-cure scam ads, and the grandparents are paying

What happened
Mark Cuban says scam ads using deepfakes of his face and voice, offering a $294 diabetes cure he never sold, keep running on Meta's Facebook. Reuters reported in November 2025 on internal Meta documents estimating about $16 billion, roughly 10% of 2024 revenue, came from scam and prohibited-product ads. Meta disputed the estimate, saying it was rough and overly inclusive.
