What happened
Rotterdam police arrested two men suspected of running a bank-helpdesk fraud that used AI-generated phone calls and a fake banking app to capture card data via NFC. The scheme allegedly caused about €380,000 in losses for 170 victims in three weeks. A court ordered both suspects held in custody for at least another 90 days while the investigation continues.
