What happened
Researchers at Abnormal AI found a new phishing-as-a-service platform, Athena StealthRoute, whose AI Studio generates customized phishing lures and benign-looking decoy content. The firm identified about 89,700 attack-related messages across roughly 2,280 organizations in the US and Europe in the six months to October 9. Credential and token harvesting is handled by separate external services.
