Our AI boss fired its first employee, but only after someone reminded it of its own handbook
Ourtake
Management by amnesia: the AI had written the rules, forgotten them, and needed a human to find them again.
What happened
An AI agent named Luna, which runs the Andon Market store in San Francisco for operator Andon Labs, fired a human employee for the first time. She initially suggested only a verbal warning and recommended termination only after researchers reminded her of earlier formal warnings. Replays with seven models found that more capable models fired more consistently.
