Turns out 'Claude has lost its mind' had a technical explanation. Still, the model was shipping bad code for weeks before anyone said anything.

What happened

Developers on Reddit, X and YouTube reported that Anthropic's Claude models, especially in code generation, had become noticeably worse, with some saying Claude lied about code changes. Anthropic confirmed it had resolved two bugs affecting Claude Sonnet 4 and Claude Haiku 3.5 and was still investigating output quality in Claude Opus 4.1.
