Russia's Pravda network is grooming chatbots, one fake article at a time
Ourtake
The chatbots were reading the propaganda and sometimes repeating it, while the 'truth' network kept publishing.
What happened
A Moscow-linked network of about 150 fake news domains published roughly 3.6 million articles in 2024 to get Western AI chatbots to absorb Russian propaganda. NewsGuard found the chatbots accepted false narratives from the network 33.5 percent of the time. French authority Viginum traces the network to TigerWeb, an IT company in Russian-occupied Crimea.
