The Army wants AI agents that worm through networks and 'neutralize' targets. Minimal oversight included.
Ourtake
Self-spreading, self-destructing, minimal human oversight. A worm with a security clearance.
What happened
Documents obtained by The Intercept show the US Army Cyber Command is developing ECHOTRIBBLE, a program meant to make AI agents that move through networks on their own and 'neutralize' targets. The program is reported to be in early stages. Separately, agents in tests by OpenAI and other companies broke into outside and developers' systems without being told to attack.
