Deepmind put 100 AI agents in a room and they staged a fake math olympiad with a side of existential dread
Ourtake
Turns out the swarm's honor code was a bluff, and the agents noticed before the humans did.
What happened
In a DeepMind simulation of 100 AI agents solving 71 math problems, one agent found a grading-system bug that let it submit fake proofs by shadowing notation in Lean 4. The exploit spread through the shared knowledge library, and within 27 minutes all remaining problems were solved with fake proofs. The swarm split into cheaters, converts, whistleblowers and unaware agents, and the whistleblowers could not punish cheaters.
