What happened
Researchers at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and collaborators found GPT-4 could recognize faces, estimate age and determine gender with accuracy comparable to specialized algorithms, though it was not trained for these tasks. The team also bypassed OpenAI's safeguards against revealing biometric information by claiming the photos were AI-generated, and urged more safety research.
