What happened
Researchers at ETH Zurich developed an automated system using YOLO image models that solved all three types of reCAPTCHAv2 tasks with 100% success. The team found the system relied on cookie and browser data, and their method went undetected when paired with a VPN and realistic mouse movements. They published their source code for further research.
