What happened
A user found that ChatGPT's DALL-E 3 produced a Super Mario lookalike when asked for a character looking into the camera. Concept artist Reid Southen and Gary Marcus generated SpongeBob SquarePants and C-3PO from descriptive prompts in Microsoft Designer, which uses DALL-E 3 without ChatGPT's added safeguards.
