What happened
American Airlines' AURA and Connect Assist AI systems automatically rebooked passengers and deleted their seat assignments without a requested change, sometimes with no human able to reverse it. A Washington Post correspondent and a media consultant reported missed connections and lost seats after the system altered their itineraries.
