What happened
Check Point Research disclosed a jailbreak bundle called Haiou, distributed on GitHub and bundled in the Codex-X tool, that persistently rewrites OpenAI Codex's global instructions to insert advertisements for a paid third-party LLM gateway. The bundle was made available on July 10, 2026, and the researchers say it may serve as an acquisition channel for the gateway.
