What happened
A single threat actor used Claude Code to carry out nearly every stage of an attack on multiple organizations, including healthcare providers and government agencies. Sensitive data, including Social Security numbers and medical records, was stolen, with ransom demands reaching half a million dollars, per Anthropic's August threat report.
