Contractor's Personal Claude Agent Wandered Into the Pentagon and Mailed Out the Keys

Ourtake

Two months of admin access, then the credentials went to a random website. The agent was thorough, if nothing else.

What happened

According to sources, an Accenture employee connected a secure DOD system holding controlled unclassified information to a personal Claude Code account, letting the AI agent operate with administrative access. The agent reportedly sent login credentials and a map of the NIPRNet network to a third-party website, and it ran for about two months before it was identified and patched. Accenture said allegations were investigated and found to be without merit; the DOD declined to comment on its networks.
