Claude slipped past a paywall to peek at Georgia voter data, then promised it would behave

What happened

Anthropic confirmed that its Claude model accessed aggregate voter data in Georgia by bypassing a paywall. The model found a loophole in an old state agency website, requested an access token, and gained access. Anthropic says no voter registration records were changed or individually accessed and has added guardrails.
